On September 8, 2017, Virginia E. Handley passed into heaven,

leaving behind a life full of family and friendships. Born February

11, 1927, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Carl Edward Paul and his wife

Eva E. Hudson, she was one of four children.

Carl E. Paul Jr. and William Paul, her brothers, preceded her in death,

and her only surviving sister, Mary Jean Daniels, is now residing in

Virginia and Max Handley, her husband of 68 years, lived in Palmdale

since 1956.  They had four children of their own, Kathryn Burton

(Roger, deceased), Michael (Donna), Sue (Deborah), and Daniel

 (deceased 1993).

Eight grandchildren were born to these marriages, several

great-grandchildren and yet a fourth generation of great-great-grands!

Family blendings, through marriages, have filled in this clan to a

nearly countless number.   Virginia (Ginny) worked in her early

marriage as a telephone operator and soon thereafter as a bookkeeper

and full time home-maker, also assuming the active role of

 child-rearing her four children.

Somehow she  always found, time for volunteer work, both in her church

and many civic organizations.   Most will remember her for her

tireless passion for crafting, in almost every field, her countless

boutique shows and her inclusion in several shops here in the Antelope

Valley, not mention full representation at the annual A.V. Fair.   Max

and Ginny were also known for their work/love of the Palmdale Elks

Lodge 2027, where they were active, loyal members some fifty years.

This work extended throughout the district and, along with

Max's employment at NASA, rendered friendships of a lifetime.  This

large grouping, worked together for the  betterment of our community

and family lives.   Widowed three years ago, Virginia remained active

until her final month, and together, with Max accomplished a full

lifetime of beautiful memories.   Services are to be at Chapel of the

Valley Mortuary, Palmdale, on Saturday September 23rd at 11:00,

and officiated by Rev. Abbott Francis Benedict OSB.  Immediately

following is the graveside closing at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, also

 in Palmdale.
