The Life & Legacy of Earline Freeman “Pretty Lady”

Earline Freeman was born in Waldo, Arkansas. She was the first born of Lena and Elmer Henry. Earline accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was the only child for eight years and was the joy of her father’s life, who often carried her to school. Later she was joined by her sister Othie, brother E. H. known as “Buddy”, brother Turnia known as “Tiny”, (who preceded her in death), sister Elva (who preceded her in death). The growing family moved from Waldo, Arkansas to Los Angeles, California in 1945 where her brother Elmer Henry Jr. was born. Earline attended Carver Jr. High, Jefferson High School and LA Trade Technical Institute. She worked in the Garment District as a Seamstress. She then proceeded to the School District to serve as a Teacher’s Aide and was then promoted to an Assistant Administrator. Earline was known for her comical dialogue, amazing sense of humor, there was never a dull moment while in her presence. “Easy on the Eye, Smile” “STOPPING TRAFFIC” Earline had three beautiful children, Michael, Theodore, and Shirley who all grew up in Los Angeles, California. In May of 1973, she met the love of her life “Mr. Robert Freeman known as “Bobby”! They were married for Forty-four years. Earline credits her eloquent style of dress to her phenomenal husband of impeccable style and charisma. Earline and Bobby have traveled around the world visiting some of the greatest cities in Asia, Europe, and North America plus numerous exotic Pacific Islands. They both attended Christ Missionary Bible Church in Quartz Hill, Ca. for over 20 years Earline leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband, Robert Freeman, children Michael Young (Marie), Theodore Young (Carol), and daughter Shirley Golston, step-sons Robert Freeman III and Michael Freeman. 15 Grandchildren (1) Grandson Detrick proceeded her in death, (30) Great-grandchildren, and (6) Great- great-grandchildren. One sister Othie Washington (Donald), Two brothers E.H. Henry (Betty) and Elmer Henry Jr. (Patricia) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
